The Van Buren police are seeking the public input on the possible identification in a an incident in which a man fled from law enforcement last week
On August 3 at approximately 9:05am, an officer with the VDPD attempted to stop a motorcycle at South 4th and Industrial Park Road.
The officer was dispatched after the communications center received a call of a reckless driving coming down Highway 59 from Barling.
The male driver stopped and then took off at a high rate of speed. He fled for a short time before the pursuit was discontinued for safety reasons.
The suspect was a white male with brown hair and he was wearing a face mask and bandana.
He was riding a white cruiser style bike with a possible license plate of 608084.
From watching the video, It appeared as though the rider of the bike was taunting police and wanted to lead police in a pursuit. On Thursday, a motorcycle was found in Van Buren on North 7th Street that police believe could possibly be the one used in the pursuit.
The motorcycle recovered had been reported stolen out of Fort Smith. Attached to the release is a picture of a mask similar to the one the suspect was wearing, and a copy of the video.
Anyone with information on the suspect or the bike, please contact the Van Buren Police Department at (479) 474-1234.
