Alcohol may have played a part in a single vehicle accident north of Sallisaw on Thursday, according to officials with Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Troopers say there was an “odor of alcohol” in a 2003 Nissan 380Z that left the roadway three miles north of Sallisaw on State Highway 101, stuck a power line and fence and flipped twice before coming to rest on the side of the road. The east bound Nissan failed to negotiate a curve, according to the report.

The driver, 23-year-old Joshua Davis of Sallisaw, was transported by personal vehicle to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he was admitted in stable condition.

The investigation into the accident continues.
