FORT SMITH - Police say that up to $2,300 in reward money is being offered in the case of an artifact that went missing Thursday from the Fort Smith Museum of History. Officers responded to the center at 320 Rogers Avenue around 2:30 PM.

“Museum workers discovered a display had been moved, and upon closer inspection, discovered that a gold, lizard-shaped, tie pin had been stolen.” FSPD spokesman Lt. Thomas Milam said in a release. “This artifact is one of the very few items remaining that was the personal property of Judge Isaac C. Parker. FSPD Detectives are investigating the case and ask that any person with information regarding this theft come forward.”

The Fort Smith Museum of History is offering a $1,300 reward in the case. Individuals with information may also call Crimestoppers at 78-CRIME, where any information leading to an arrest, in this case, may also be eligible for a cash reward up to $1000.
