FORT SMITH – Parrot Island Waterpark of Fort Smith, AR has been giving back to our community during the holiday season.
With multiple ways to “Give Back” during the holiday season, representatives from Parrot Island Waterpark participated in several events with one mission: to give back to the community and spread holiday cheer, Parrot Island style.
The park mascot, Petey, and park managers recently participated in the Feeding Hope Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, the Salvation Army Coats for Kids Drive and a Toys for Tot event. Parrot Island Waterpark has a donation station set up at the waterpark’s ticket office until December 16, 2017 and encourages the local community to drop off toys for this very special annual toy drive. The Marine Corps Toys for Tots collections are delivered to local churches, social welfare agencies, and other community agencies for under-served children through-out the local area.
Parrot Island will also be participating in the National Cemetery Christmas Honors on December 15th by preparing and transporting wreaths to be placed on headstones.
Community service is an important characteristic of the Parrot Island brand, and throughout the year, representatives of the waterpark, along with the park’s mascot, Petey the parrot, participate in parades, visit local schools, and attends and supports a variety of community events.
“We are proud to be apart of such a giving community. Be sure to stop by and say hello when you are dropping off your toy donation. We are looking forward to a great 2018 season and welcome all of our friends back to the island.” Brenda Payne, Director of Sales at Parrot Island Waterpark.
