FORT SMITH - The Fort Smith Police Department says the suspect who assaulted an elderly man in a now viral video has turned himself in to authorities.
The incident happened at the Timberline Apartments earlier in the week. The video was posted to Facebook, and was shared hundreds of times before ultimately being removed.
“Jarvis Diggs came forward this afternoon to turn himself in for the altercation that occurred in the video Facebook has since removed,” the Fort Smith Police Department said in a release. “He has been charged with second-degree battery.”
