Fayetteville- Razorback sophomore linebacker Demetrius “Dee” Walker is now facing serious charges following an arrest in Fayetteville on Wednesday December 12, 2018.
According to media reports: Fayetteville Police executed a search warrant and obtained 95.8 grams of marijuana, 40 xanax pills, multiple individual and sandwich baggies, a digital scale and an AR-15 with one loaded magazine
Records from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office show Walker was arrested on charges of Delivery of a Controlled Substance (marijuana), Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (marijuana), Possession of Schedule IV/V Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Xanax), Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The University of Arkansas Athletic Department released a statement regarding Walker’s charges, detailing he is now “suspended indefinitely”:
“We are aware of charges involving Demetrius Walker, a student-athlete on our football team. The student-athlete has been suspended from our football program indefinitely, and we will continue to monitor the situation and cooperate fully with any related legal and campus processes. Our continued expectation is that our student-athletes conduct themselves and represent the University of Arkansas in an appropriate manner at all times.”
Walker has been booked into the Washington County Detention Center as of 10:50 PM on Dec. 12th. An initial appearance has been scheduled for December 14th, 2018.
