LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Department of Health announced on Monday night that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 201, and an additional case has been detected in Crawford County.

The news came with the latest update on Monday night, indicating that there was at least one case in Crawford County, but no more than four. The state says that giving an exact number when cases are under five could jeopardize patient privacy laws.

Governor Hutchinson said Monday that six patients have now met the criteria for recovery.

A second case of the COVID-19 virus has bee confirmed in Fort Smith, with a spokesperson for the JC Penney store in Central Mall acknowledging that it is a company employee.

“Our thoughts are with the associate as they recover,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “The health and safety of JCPenney associates and customers is always our top priority. “
