Sarah “Sally” Roden, 79 of Van Buren passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 in a local hospital. She was a snack bar manager at Walmart. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and square dancing. She was a member of Fort Smith First Baptist Church and a member of First Help Ministry and 60 Plus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Roden; both parents, Ray and Sarah J. (Blakely) Easton.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Fort Smith First Baptist Church with burial at Dyer Cemetery in Dyer under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by two daughters, Dee Welch of Fort Worth, Texas, Cheryl Ann Wiles of Barling; three sisters, Sidney Cheryl Dunson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jane Ann Sturgeon and
Mary Leigh Taylor both of Fort Smith; five grandchildren Brittney Wiles, Krystina Davis, Jessica Mosley, Matthew Welch and Cody Wiles; numerous nieces and nephews and many adopted grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Cody Wiles, Matthew Welch, Brooks Trotter, Michael Roden, Eric Cooksey, John Flynn, Corbin Dishner and Aaron Dunson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Gray’s Sunday School Class.
Family will visit with relatives and friends Monday, March 4, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren 700 Jefferson Street.
