OMAHA - As fan dissatisfaction with the Arkansas football program rises, and more Razorback fans want Athletic Director Jeff Long gone, we now know one place he won’t be going.

The University of Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers announced today that Bill Moos, currently in the same position at Washington State University, will take over the vacant spot in Lincoln. Moos, 66, has served as the Cougars in the athletic director role since 2010, after holding the same job at the University of Oregon, and the University of Montana

Long, who succeeded Frank Broyles in 2008 at the University of Arkansas was one of the candidates rumored to be considered for the job. He has been given contract extensions before when in talks with other schools. In addition to his role in Fayetteville, he has been the chairman of the College Football Playoff Committee.

Back in Lincoln, Moos succeeds Shawn Eichorst, who was fired by Nebraska on Sept. 21. Former Husker All-American Dave Rimington served as interim athletic director. He will be announced today at 4:00 PM.
