| LITTLE ROCK — Gov. Asa Hutchinson today appointed Kimberly Lindsey O’Guinn of Little Rock to the Public Service Commission.
PSC commissioners are appointed to serve for a 6-year term. O’Guinn replaces outgoing Commissioner, Lamar Davis. Gov. Hutchinson released the following statement: “I am delighted to announce Kim O’Guinn as the next commissioner to the Arkansas Public Service Commission. Kim’s background and regulatory experience make her a great addition to an already stellar group of commissioners. I have no doubt she will serve the PSC and our state well in this new role.” O’Guinn issued the following statement: “After sixteen years of service to the state as an environmental engineer with the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, I am humbled and deeply honored to accept this appointment to the Arkansas Public Service Commission. I thank Governor Asa Hutchinson for the opportunity to continue serving the people of the State of Arkansas, and I look forward to bringing my technical education and regulatory experience to the Commission.” Kimberly Lindsey O’Guinn is a sixteen-year veteran of the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality, where she has served the state as an Environmental Engineer and recently as the Director of Communications. O’Guinn earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Oklahoma, where she was designated the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Space Grant Consortium/NASA EPSCoR fellow. Following her three years with NASA, O’Guinn worked as an Environmental Engineer at the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality. Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, O’Guinn graduated from Little Rock Central High School. Kim credits much of her exposure to the math and sciences to her twelve years as a member of the Girl Scouts of America organization, beginning as a Brownie and continuing as a Girl Scout through her senior year of high school. She remains active with the organization, along with her volunteer work with the Center for Healing Hearts and Spirits. O’Guinn and her twelve-year-old son, Prentice O’Guinn IV, live in Little Rock, Arkansas. |
