We’ve heard a lot more about White House press aide Sarah Huckabee Sanders in recent days than we have her father. But former Governor Mike Huckabee seems to have been busy expanding his business interests while continuing to make the occasional television appearance on Fox News.

Paperwork was filed with the FCC on Monday for Huckabee’s East Texas Results Radio LLC to purchase four radio stations in the Tyler, Texas market. The former broadcaster-turned-preacher-turned-politician is a 49% owner in the company, partnering with longtime Arkansas broadcaster Paul Coates, who has owned and operated a number of radio stations across the state including nearby stations in Ozark. The pair are partners in four radio stations in Pine Bluff, which they resurrected after the signals were off the air for several years.

They will have a similar situation on their hands in the Tyler market, taking over four radio stations owned by late broadcaster and Arkansas native Dudley Waller, who passed away last year. The stations were abruptly taken off the air in August 2016 after a family dispute among his wife and surviving children. The employees of the radio station would later take the matter to court, after being terminated with no notice.

Huckabee is no stranger to the radio business, having started out as a young broadcaster at his hometown station in Hope. Following his two terms as Governor of Arkansas, he would go on to host The Huckabee Report which took the place of ABC Radio’s Paul Harvey, and a syndicated talk show that aired opposite of Rush Limbaugh.

According to paperwork filed with the Federal Communications Commission, the deal is worth some $1.2 million.
