Carolyn Hignite of Muldrow has a date with the Sallisaw District Court on her embezzlement charge.
Hignite was arrested on March 30 for alleged embezzlement of $427,699 from a loan company in Roland over a 54-month period. The court filings identify the company as Anchor Financial Services.
She will appear in front of Judge Kyle Waters of the Sallisaw District Court on Wednesday, June 31, when a determination will be made if attorneys are ready to proceed with a trial.
According to a report by the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation, Hignite prepared and approved over 120 false loan applications in a variety of names and converted the money realized from those loans to her personal use.
Agents arrested Hignite at the Sequoyah County Jail when she turned herself in to officials on March 26. She was released after posting the $5,000 bond two days later.
Officials said the scheme had been ongoing since December of 2012.
