Chaffin recognized for high achievements among junior highs

Chaffin Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) as one of the highest-achieving junior high schools in Arkansas.

Chaffin Junior High School has been recognized by the Office for Education Policy (OEP) as one of the highest-achieving junior high schools in Arkansas.

The OEP at the University of Arkansas creates an annual report entitled the Outstanding Educational Performance Awards highlighting the highest-performing schools in Arkansas.

In their report released March 1, Chaffin Jr. High School received eight awards:

Statewide:
Overall High Achieving
ELA High Achieving
Math High Achieving
Science High Achieving

Regional:
Northwest Region Overall High Achieving
Northwest Region ELA High Achieving
Northwest Region Math High Achieving
Northwest Region Science High Achieving

Awards are based on the OEP-created “school GPA,” calculated on the basis of the percentage of students that perform at each level on the 2016 ACT Aspire Math, ELA, and Science. View more about how OEP determined the award winners and the full list of award recipients.

Office for Education Policy’s Gary Ritter, Ph.D., Faculty Director and Sarah McKenzie, Ph.D., Executive Director wrote, “We congratulate [Chaffin Junior High School] on this accomplishment and hope that [Chaffin] will share this good news with teachers, students, and others who contributed to your school’s success.”
