Daniel Edward Wall, 33, entered a plea of guilty Friday in Logan County Circuit Court to the charge of “Internet Stalking of a Child,” a class “B” Felony.
Three counts of “Computer Child Pornography” were not prosecuted in the plea agreement.
Wall was placed on seven years supervised probation, ordered to register as a sex offender and pay a fine of $1,500 plus $150 court costs. Wall must also pay a $250 DNA fee, $10 administration fee and $250 sex offender fee.
Logan County sheriff Boyd Dan Hicks lauded the Yell County Sheriff’s Office, Booneville Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Arkansas State Police and the 15th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for their assistance in making the case against Wall. Wall responded to a police officer that was posing as a 13-year-old on line.
“Law Enforcement received some bad press on this case based on false statements made by Wall and his first Attorney. And many times we must endure that rather than jeopardize the case, ” said Hicks. “I sincerely appreciate the dedication of the officers with the agencies listed above who stood firm and did their jobs no matter the consequences.”
“My concerns are for the many children that fall victim to this type of crime every day,” said Hicks. “We will continue to go after anyone who attempts to prey on the innocent, especially our children.”
