UPDATE: On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at approximately 10:45 A.M. 35 year old Tadareo Allen Thomas Sr. came to the Fort Smith Police Department where he was questioned by Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit. During the investigation it was found that the shooting originally occurred in the 4700 Block of Wirsing Ave. Following the interview with investigators Tadareo Allen Thomas Sr. was arrested and charged with Battery 1st Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
FORT SMITH - The Fort Smith Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting.
“On Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at approximately 12:15 A.M. Fort Smith Police responded to a local Hospital regarding a male in the emergency room with two gunshot wounds.” the Department said in a statement. “The victim was identified as thirty-four year old Cecil Gardner Jr. Mr. Gardner was reportedly taken to the Hospital by an acquaintance.”
InsideFortSmith.Com readers advised that the investigation was taking place on Wirsing Avenue on the north side of Fort Smith.
“Mr. Gardner is currently listed as being in stable condition.” the Department said. “The investigation is ongoing at this time and more information will be released as it becomes available.”
