A 22-year-old Vian man has died and an 18-year-old Sallisaw female and a minor were taken to a UAMS Medical Center and the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock respectively following a single vehicle accident in Franklin County in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

The Arkansas State Police said Tryston Whitley was a passenger in a 014 Dodge Dart driven by 18-year-old Nina L. Cate that struck a concrete overpass pier near Lone Oak Road at the 32.78 mile marker on Interstate 40.

Edmonson reported conditions were clear and dry at the time of the accident that occurred at 5:29 a.m.
