FORT SMITH - An exhibition featuring 20 posters from prominent Iranian artists and 20 posters by international graphic designers will be on display at Windgate Art & Design at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith through April 6, with a lecture and workshop by one of the artists slated in late March.
“Exhibit 20X20: Posters for Peace” will be on display in the first floor hallway at Windgate, located at 535 N. Waldron Road. Viewing hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
The exhibition by Pasaj Cultural Collaborative strives to bring forth the potential of posters as a medium for political expression and interaction with society at large. Curated by Pouya Jahanshahi and Zahra Pashaie, the exhibit features original works created by designers specifically for the event.
Additionally, Jahanshahi will give a free public lecture titled “Development of a Hybrid Visual Language” at 5:30 p.m. March 29 in the theater of Windgate Art & Design. The following day, Pouya will offer a free public workshop titled “College Corner: Textures of Peace.” While the workshop is free, registration is required and the deadline for registration is March 23.
