A jury trial has been scheduled in Sequoyah County for a former Muldrow teacher who was charged with enabling child abuse by injury in October 2016.
The trial is set for August 7 at 9 a.m.
At the time of the incident, Julie Boshers, 52, was a home economics teacher and had been employed at Muldrow Schools for 10 years.
According to the Muldrow Police Department affdavit filed in the arrest, Boshers is accused of letting her son fight another student at Muldrow High School without intervening and doing nothing to stop the fight.
Police said Boshers not only watched the fight, but knew it was going to happen.
The affidavit said from the time Boshers’ son told her his intentions to when the first punch was thrown about two minutes had elapsed.
Witnesses said that prior to the fight and during the fight itself, Boshers made no attempt to prevent it either verbally or physically, nor did she call for assistance from the administration or campus police prior to the fight.
A video was taken of the two-minute fight. In it, a 17-year-old student can be seen getting picked up and body-slammed by another student, who was later identified as Bosher’s son.
Boshers, who is no longer employed by the school district, entered a not guilty plea to the charge on Jan. 12.
