Three residents from the region were honored at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock over the weekend, including a Fort Smith youth that took first place in the senior dance division and was named the overall state talent winner.

Percy Roberston of Fort Smith danced his way to the win in his division then captured the overall crown with his performance on Saturday night. Roberston collected $1,000 cash for winning the title.

Kara Dickens of Cedarville, Miss Crawford County, was crowned the new Miss Arkansas State Fair Queen, receiving $2,000 cash, a four-year college scholarship year scholarship, a Crown Jewel ring, clothing and more

Veteran pageant director Marla Keady was named Director of the Year Award from the State Fair for the work in various pageants throughout the year.
