ALTUS - An Ozark woman was shot by an unknown assailant late Thursday night and taken to a Franklin County hospital before being airlifted to a Fort Smith hospital for further treatment.
Shawna Marie Strudivant, a CNA at Johnson County Health and Rehab according to her Facebook profile, was struck with shotgun pellets in the leg in an incident that occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. when she was attacked in her vehicle in the parking lot of the Weiderkehr Bistro in Altus.
According to law enforcement officials and published reports Strudivant was in her vehicle when a small silver passenger car blocked her in and the unknown assailant fired at least one shotgun blast at the Strudivant vehicle.
Police officials say the investigation is ongoing.
