The Steel Horse Rally will present two more charitable donations to local charities this week for a total of $20,000 to five charities.

Because of the success to the 2017 Steel Horse Rally, the annual charity motorcycle rally in downtown Fort Smith the first weekend of May, the Steel Horse Rally was able to raise more donations this year.

Also, the Steel Horse Rally is increasing the number of charities that it is helping this year and it is also increasing the amount given to $4,000 to each charity.

“These charitable donation presentations to these incredible local charities are the culmination of all of the planning, time and hard work that went into the 2017 Steel Horse Rally,” said Steel Horse Rally president Dennis Snow. “Thank you to everyone — sponsors, volunteers, local public safety agencies and everyone who attended the Steel Horse Rally and made donations and made the 2017 Steel Horse Rally a huge success.”

The first $4,000 donation was presented to Heroes’ on the Water during the recent Steel Horse Rally Volunteer Appreciation Event in June.

This money will enable Heroes on the Water to purchase a canoe specially designed to help veterans with disabilities.

Last week, the Steel Horse Rally presented a donation of $4,000 to the Fort Smith Museum of History and a charitable donation of $4,000 to Earthbound Angels Inc.

The schedule of charitable donation presentations to be made by the Steel Horse Rally Inc. this week is as follows:

Thursday at 2 p.m. at The Buddy Smith Veterans Home, 500 North 9th St., director Kim Wohlford will be there with board members and clients to accept the $4,000 check from the president and board members of the Steel Horse Rally Inc.

Thursday (07/20/17) at 4 p.m. at The Arc of the River Valley, 7821 Texas Road across from Cavanaugh Elementary School, director Makala Cole and board members will accept the $4,000 donation from the president and board members of the Steel Horse Rally Inc.

The 2017 Steel Horse Rally was a huge success bringing more than 75,000 people to Fort Smith and having a local economic impact of more than $13 Million.

The Steel Horse Rally has received numerous state, local and regional awards for being an outstanding community and entertainment event, bringing musicians, artisans, vendors and attendees from across the country and world to Fort Smith.

The Steel Horse Rally, which features a series of motorcycle rides, the annual Thunder through the Valley Motorcycle Parade, vendors, concerts, a bikini contest and other charitable events is one of the fastest-growing motorcycle rallies in the country.

Planning is already underway for the 4th Annual Steel Horse Rally, May 4-5, 2018, in downtown Fort Smith.
