FORT SMITH- the Arkansas State Police report that they have apprehended an individual following a high speed chase which took place yesterday who is believed to be a suspect in the theft of several vehicles.
Three separate vehicles are believed to have been stolen by the apprehended suspect. Arkansas State Police spotted a Chevrolet Impala which was suspected of being stolen at Walmart on Kelly Highway where an Acura was also reported stolen.
An Arkansas State Trooper also spotted the same Acura driving along northbound I-540 .
A pursuit later ensued with the suspect and an Arkansas State Trooper took the lead in the pursuit near the Highway 64D exit into Oklahoma.
The stolen vehicle was stopped by use of a “precision intervention technique” and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
