FORT SMITH - Neurosurgeon Kenneth Tonymon, M.D., F.A.A.N.S., has joined Sparks Clinic Neuroscience Center and will provide a much needed medical service to the community.
As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Tonymon focuses on prevention, diagnosis, and surgical treatment of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system including the brain and spinal cord, such as head and nerve injuries, chronic pain and stroke.
Dr. Tonymon has been in practice for more than 30 years and says he initially chose medicine as a profession because of his father, who had a primary care practice in rural Arkansas.
“He had a clinic, made house calls, and delivered babies and I watched him serve the community and build relationships with his patients that I really admired,” said Dr. Tonymon.
Dr. Tonymon earned his degree and completed residencies in both general surgery and neurosurgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He most recently worked at Essentia Health-Fargo in N.D., and HSHS St. Vincent in Green Bay, Wis.
Sparks Clinic Neuroscience Center is located at 1500 Dodson Avenue, Suite 290. Dr. Tonymon will work alongside neurologists Satish Gaddam, M.D., and Mohammad Owais, M.D., at that location. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, Dr. Tonymon will conduct procedures at Sparks Regional Medical Center. Dr. Tonymon and his wife have raised five children and currently reside in Northwest Arkansas.
