FORT SMITH- The National Weather Service in Tulsa predicts that there will be the potential for severe thunderstorms this weekend.
As a strong upper level storm system moves out of the desert into Southwest Oklahoma, elevated storms will become possible across northwest Arkansas Friday night into Saturday morning.
Large hail will be the main threat as the system moves through the area. Strong southwest winds around 40 mph are also expected on Saturday during the mid-day and afternoon hours.
Although severe weather is predicted, pleasant temperatures are in store as the high is expected to reach 65 degrees on Saturday.
