A radar image of Monday night's storms

 

PARIS - Severe thunderstorms that moved through the area on Monday night may have produced a tornado in at least one area county.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Warning for Logan County around 7:15 PM, as thunderstorms produced heavy rotation on radar near the Chismville community. The heaviest parts of the storm moved south of Paris, however, no damage was reported as of 12:00 AM Tuesday morning.

Officials with the Paris Schools were forced to postpone a basketball game being played at the time. Reports to InsideFortSmith.Com indicated that players and fans were evacuated to a safe spot before the games were allowed to conclude.

Severe thunderstorms also moved through several counties in Northwest Arkansas.
