Mary C. Amos was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Idabel, Oklahoma, the daughter of Richard Bolen Carter and Rosie Mae (Mann) Carter.
She was married to Benjamin Franklin Amos on October 5, 1941 in Short, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1998.
Mrs. Amos passed this life on April 30, 2017 in Fort Smith, Arkansas, at the age of 91.
She leaves to mourn her passing one sister, Lona Mae Boren of Sparks, Nevada; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin; her parents, Richard and Rosie Carter; two sisters, Bonnie Deshields and Edna Ives; and five brothers, Burton, Dan, Ran, Ralph and Ben Carter
Graveside service is Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Viewing is Tuesday from noon-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw.
Active pallbearers are Heath Philpot, Zach Philpot, Daniel Miller, Bailey Carter, Jonathan Carter, and Jacob Carter. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Carter, Mike Carter, A.J. Henshaw, David Carter and Bowlen Carter.
