Franklin County officials say a former politician and rancher wanted for failing to register as a sex offender was captured over the weekend.
Daniel Edward Wall, 34, was located and detained by Desha County official near McGehee. He listed a Lake Village address at the time of booking. He was returned to Franklin County on Saturday
Wall entered a plea of guilty in late August in Logan County Circuit Court to the charge of “Internet Stalking of a Child,” a class “B” Felony after he responded to a police officer that was posing as a 13-year-old online. Wall tried to get the officer to exchange explicit photos and agree to “meet” according to court records out of Franklin County.
In 2012, Wall ran for the Arkansas House of Representatives as a Democrat. He was defeated by State Rep. Jon Eubanks (R-Paris). He was also a Paris Police Department officer.
Wall actually caught a break in his sentencing as three counts of “Computer Child Pornography” were not prosecuted in the plea agreement in exchange for a guilty plea. Wall was placed on seven years supervised probation, ordered to register as a sex offender and pay a fine of $1,500 plus $150 court costs. In addition, Wall was ordered pay a $250 DNA fee, $10 administration fee and $250 sex offender fee.
