While Arkansas’ schedule is a long way from being set in stone, the Hogs do have a handful of non-conference games penciled in.
The marquee trip will be a three-day Thanksgiving run in the Phil Knight Invitational in Portland, Oregon, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer.
Mike Anderson’s sixth season will find the Razorbacks rubbing elbows with the big dogs of NCAA basketball during the tournament, which also features perennial powerhouses Duke and North Carolina.
Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida, Butler, Georgetown, Connecticut, Gonzaga, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas complete the tournament field.
The event will be structured as two separate eight-team tournaments.
Duke and UNC will be in separate brackets, as will other teams from the same conferences like Arkansas and Florida, Oklahoma and Texas, Stanford and Oregon, Michigan State and Ohio State and Butler and Georgetown.
By default, the Razorbacks should be facing one of the top programs in the country in the first round of what is being called the most ambitious in-season tournament event in NCAA history.
Arkansas has also slated three other marquee conference games during the regular season, although the official dates have not been released,
Arkansas will host Minnesota and Colorado State and travel to Houston.
The Razorbacks finished 25-10 last season, advancing to the second round of the NCAA tournament where they lost to eventual national champion North Carolina in a controversial 72-65 setback.
