A Sequoyah County high school student was taken to a Tulsa hospital as a lifeflight patient after being involved in a one vehicle accident on the east side of Sallisaw near Central High School.
Jacob Davis, 18, of Sallisaw, was taken to the Tulsa medical facility by helicopter suffering from head injuries after he jumped from a pick-up truck he was driving along 1080 Road at around 8:15 p.m. Thursday evening.
According to the report filed by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Davis was driving a 1995 Dodge when he intentionally tried to exit the moving vehicle through the drivers-side window.
The accident occurred neat the Central railroad crossing on 1080 Road.
Troopers said the cause of the accident was the intent of the driver.
The two occupants, one if which grabbed the wheel of the truck after Davis jumped, were not injured in the accident.
