Gore shooting from Saturday under investigation

The body of a 61-year-old Salina, Kansas man who was shot dead in Gore on Saturday has been sent to the Oklahoma state medical examiners office in Tulsa and and the investigation into the shooting continues according to Sequoyah County officials.

Kansas resident Bob Shank’s body was found in the Gore home of his former son-in-law-identified as Joseph Pack-after officers were called to the residence early Saturday.

Shanks daughter and Pack had been divorced for about six months, according to published reports. The couple has two children that were not present at the time of the shooting.

Packed had called 911 and said someone was trying to break in to the house and the intruder had been shot. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials found Shanks,dead inside the home.

Pack was taken in for questioning but no charges have been filed.
