FORT SMITH- The Fort Smith Public School System has implemented a new helpline which is designed to promote the safety of students in the district.

The 24-hour-a-day service allows callers to anonymously report concerns regarding student safety in the district.

The district says the system is designed for reports of bullying, violence, theft, talk of suicide, sexual harassment, and weapons.

Students, teachers, staff, parents, and administrators are encouraged to use the new service.

The helpline is completely anonymous and a third party company which has no ties with the school, Secure Voice, has been contracted for the service, according to Fort Smith Public Schools.

There are several ways the service can be used:

You can dial 1-800-418-6423 ext. 359, file your tip online, text TIPS to 66746, or there is also an android and apple application available.
