A Fort Smith man, already free on a $100,000 legally sufficient bond facing a Sebastian County trial date for an arrest in March for felony sexual assault in the 2nd degree-contact or forced compulsion, was back in jail on Wednesday, but not for long.
Ronald Allen Ross, 53, who bonded out of the Sebastian County Adult Detention Center on March 9 after his earlier arrest, was booked into jail on Wednesday after subsequent investigation stemming from the original arrest resulted in two counts of distributing-possessing-viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child.
His booking information from that arrest shows a notation of “set for trial” on his release info. A search of the website Arkansas Court Connect failed to show a pending trial date for the suspect.
Sexual assault in the second degree is a Class B felony punishable by incarceration of 5–20 years and a fine of up to $15,000.
The additional charges found him back in the county lock-up st 10:13 a.m. on Wednesday morning after an arrest by the Sebastian County Sherri’f office. He spent just over two hours in custody before bonding out on a $50,000 legally sufficient fund bond.
At the time of his arrest in March, Ross listed his place of employment as the Arkansas National Guard. Calls to the Arkansas National Guard seeking information if he was still employed by the branch of the military went unreturned as of Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
A Ronnie Ross living in Fort Smith is listed as being an employee of the Department of the Defense on two social media sources.
