Although no official announcement has been made by LeFlore County officials, family members have confirmed that the body of 29-year old Kristy Farhat has been located and recovered from the Arkansas River.

Details are limited, but Inside Fort Smith will be following this breaking story throughout the evening.

Farhat, her husband William Farhat and her stepson, six year-old Physher Farhat all died as the result of an accident last Sunday while the family was boating on the Arkansas River near the WD Mayo Lock and Dam in a rural area of LeFlore County near Fort Coffee.

Four year old Weston Farhat somehow managed to make it out of the swollen river and on to the rock banks along the shore and suffered cuts and bruises in the incident.

Recovery crews have worked tirelessly over the past week in an effort to locate the bodies of the Farhats.
