A former Sequoyah County bondsman was officially charged this week in district court for charges that resulted in his arrest after a May 1 raid on his home on Wild Horse Mountain Road after a drug investigation.
James Lawson was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
At the hearing on Monday in district court he was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Allegedly Lawson, who worked for a bail bond service out of LeFlore and Sequoyah counties, had been selling drugs to people he had previously bonded out of jail.
Meth residue, a pipe and other paraphernalia was found in the residence at the time of his arrest.
