On a hot Thursday afternoon, July 20, 1978, Mary “Bobo” Shinn went to show a home to an unknown man in the small southwest town of Magnolia, Arkansas.
Shinn never returned.
Shinn taught art classes but was also involved with real estate. She owned investment property in Magnolia and was looking to possibly sell or trade.
When Shinn made plans to meet the man who contacted her asking to take a look at the property that July afternoon, she neglected to give her friends his name.
The only things that were ever recovered were Shinn’s blue Buick that found parked, unlocked and abandoned in the parking lot of town’s grocery store the next day. Her purse, wallet and a pair of tennis shoes were found inside the car.
However, her address book was missing.
Law enforcement continues to track down leads in this case and they remain hopeful that the mystery surrounding Shinn’s disappearance can be uncovered.
