FORT SMITH - There may be a better chance of seeing Santa Claus land on your roof early than there will be of seeing significant rainfall this week. As meteorologists continue to predict dry conditions through Friday, Sebastian County officials continue to enforce a burn ban that was issued by Judge David Hutson on Thursday.
The ban includes trash, debris, and any other materials as the flash point for burning is low, and conditions are extremely dry. Those who violate the ban are subject to a fine of up to $300.00.
Crawford County is also under the same type of ban from any outdoor burning.
The Arkansas Forestry Commission maintains an easy to find website to find out if your individual county is under a burn ban. For more information visit www.arkfireinfo.org.
