Betty Lee Nixon, 93, of Greenwood, AR, formerly of Fort Smith, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in Greenwood. She was born September 4, 1925 in Fort Smith to the late John and Clara (Walters) Smith. Betty was an alumnus of St. Anne’s Catholic High School and a long time member of the Christ the King Parish. Betty worked her way up from operator to Network Administrator for Southwestern Bell, where she retired from after many years of service. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her son, Bill M. Nixon and brother, John Mason Smith. Betty is survived by her 3 granddaughters; Laura (Tony) Campise, Deborah Nixon and Katie (Matt) Whitman, 6 great grandchildren Chandler (Lindsay) Nixon, Anthony Campise, Chloe Campise, Simone Campise, Lilly Whitman and Carissa Whitman, and 2 great great grandchildren; William Nixon and Sadie Nixon, as well as her sister Doris Bridges of Greenwood, AR and her nephew John H. (Susan) Bridges of Fort Smith. Cremation was under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith,
