FORT SMITH - The owner of a longtime haberdashery says he isn’t going anywhere. This comes after customers of Beau’s Tuxedos flooded the InsideFortSmith.Com newsroom inbox claiming that they were unable to get their clothing they had secured for several formal events including local proms over the weekend.

A small crowd of customers showed up at the store over the weekend to find locked doors and requests for their clothes denied. Store owner Beau Harlan told Fort Smith television station KFSM that it was a disgruntled employee that caused the confusion, and released a statement saying that contrary to the rumors, his store is actually growing.

“Beau’s Tuxedos is here for their prom and wedding. Beau’s Tuxedos was established in 1990 and we are growing.” Harlan said. “We got two more stores opening. We are growing, not closing, not closing at all. So, anybody out there who has an order to pick up — everyone who has tuxedos ordered — they may pick up between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. the day before.”

The company currently operates stores in both Fort Smith and Fayetteville.
