The Melissa Witt Documentary Team wants to know if you can you identify this man.
On May 17, 1995, a local newspaper ran a story entitled “Police ask for help finding Witt witness” as a plea for the public to help identify this man. A composite sketch drawing (seen above) was included in this plea.
As of 2017, this man is yet to be identified. Can you help?
This man was seen changing clothes in January of 1995 near the site where Melissa Witt’s body was found. According to law enforcement, he is not considered a suspect but police do want to find out why he was in the Turner Bend area and what information he may have about Melissa Witt.
A witness that saw this man said he did not appear to have any hunting equipment.
The unidentified man was seen changing clothes next to a dark gray or black newer model car. The car had what appeared to be a racing stripe or decal on the passenger side rear quarter panel that was possibly purple and blue. The car also had clothes hanging from what appeared to be a rack in the back seat, a spoiler on the trunk, and what appeared to be a college parking permit sticker.
The man was described as 20-30 years of age, at least 5 feet 11 inches tall, and weighing about 180 pounds with curly strawberry blond hair. He possibly had a beard.
