VAN BUREN - A familiar face in the River Valley business community starts a new career this week in a totally different field. Longtime banker Terry Carson was announced this week as the new President of the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce.
“Welcome to our new President, Terry Carson!” the Chamber said Thursday. “Today’s was Terry’s first official day in office and we are excited to have him leading our organization!”
Prior to retiring from a forty-four year career in finance, Carson had most recently been the market president for Generations Bank. The Ozark native had worked at several financial institutions in Sebastian, Franklin, Johnson, and Logan Counties.
Carson is no stranger to the civic community north of the river, having served as a member and past president of the Van Buren Lions Club, past board member of the Van Buren Chamber of Commerce, board member of the Alma Area Chamber of Commerce and member of the Alma Rotary Club.
