Fort Smith police reported this afternoon that a while male attempted to rob the Dollar General Store at 3400 Rogers Avenue at 2:22 this afternoon.
The clerk reported that an unknown white male approached the counter to make a small purchase and after setting down the product he told the clerk to open the register while lifting his shirt to reveal a handgun in his waistband.
When the clerk told the didn’t have thee ability to open the cash drawer the man fled the scene in a black, four door passenger car.
