FORT SMITH - The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Foundation is in the midst of a two day period where they’ll give back to their students. “Giving Tuesday” kicked off a forty-eight hour period where the University will raise money to provide for those who need it most.

“Sometimes a tank of gas, a pair of glasses, or an overdue utility bill can stand between a student and their education.” the University said Monday. “Every cent raised during this drive goes directly to help UAFS students through life emergencies that threaten their college careers, and to student scholarships that allow students to embark on a journey to change their futures.”

The public’s help is appreciated by more than just the organizers of the fundraiser.

“Thanks to donors like you, life emergencies and set-backs don’t have to stand between students and their dreams.” the University noted.
