VAN BUREN - The Van Buren Police Department says an upcoming event is set to help senior citizens in the area. The “Stuff The Squad Car” will take place Saturday June 1st at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Highway 59 North from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in partnership with the Van Buren Senior Center.
“We’ll be collecting items such as individually wrapped cookies and crackers, pudding cups, canned meats such as Spam, Vienna Sausages, Tuna, Beanee Weenees, etc., along with toiletry items,” the Department said in an announcement. “A detailed list of requested items will be provided to customers on the day of the event.”
The Department said if the event won’t fit into your schedule, you still have an opportunity to donate.
“If you’re not able to attend the event but you would still like to help our area senior citizens, a donation box has been placed in the lobby of our headquarters building located at 800 Fayetteville Road.”
