A nation-wide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Arkansas man who may be in “imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death,” due to a proven medical or physical disability.
The Adair County Sheriff’s office in Oklahoma issued the alert for Alfred Rhoads, 73, of Morrilton.
Rhoads was last seen about 1 p.m. Saturday in Morrilton. According to the Adair County sheriff’s office, he may be traveling in a 2007 Dodge truck with Nevada license plate 91G885.
Adair County sheriff Jason Ritchie said in Monday the man has both physical and mental issues related to aging and could be impaired to the point of confusion, leading to his missing status and the Alert.
The dispatcher at the sheriff’s office at Stillwell said there had been no change of status in the Alert as of 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. She could not give a reason for the Alert being issued in Oklahoma when Rhoads was reported missing in Arkansas.
A Silver Alert is a public notification system to broadcast information about missing persons — especially seniors with Alzheimer’s Disease, dementia or other mental disabilities — in order to aid in their return.
Anyone who sees the vehicle or Rhoads is asked to call 911, local law enforcement or the Adair County Sheriff’s office at 918-696-2106.
