Authorities in Polk County have issued a BOLO for a 52-year old Board Camp man who has not been heard from or seen since Wednesday.
Sheriff Scott Sawyer said that Kevin Birdwell, was officially listed as missing on Friday morning.
Birdwell lives in a a cabin on Polk Road 61 in Board Camp in an extremely rural area, which was his last known whereabouts. Sheriff Sawyer said there are no signs of foul play at Birdwell’s cabin and that his truck, motorcycle, and dog were all there.
Board Camp is an unincorporated community in Polk County, located on State Highway 8 approximately 8½ miles east-southeast of Mena.
Birdwell’s girlfriend reported that she had spoken to him by phone on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
She had neighbors check Birdwell’s residence on Thursday night, July 13, and when not seen by 7:30 a.m. Friday morning, July 14, reported him as missing to the Sheriff’s Department.
Sawyer also confirmed after checking with the Polk County Tax Assessor Office that Birdwell does not have any other vehicles registered.
“Everything is accounted for,” Sawyer said, adding Birdwell is listed as missing within the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system and the department has issued area wide BOLO (be on the lookout) alerts to neighboring police departments
Kevin Birdwell is described as 5 ft. 7 in. tall, 190 lbs.
Searches around his home will also continue, weather permitting.
