SALLISAW - The OSBI has identified a man shot by a Sallisaw Police Department officer during a traffic stop Sunday evening.
37-year-old Jonathan Atchley allegedly began fighting with an officer that stopped his Ford Focus. A second officer arrived, and was also involved in the altercation. After the second fight, the original officer fired a shot at Atchley. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.
The OSBI will continue an investigation, after which it will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s office.
