FORT SMITH - Methodist Village Senior Living, one of the region’s pioneer providers of senior health services and independent living, has recently added two new members to its staff. Candace Cox has been named Administrator of Assisted Living and the Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit and Carol Smith has been named as Business Development Director.
“Candace and Carol both live out our mission and values and could not be a better fit for us as we grow,” said Melissa Curry, Methodist Village Senior Living CEO. “They both bring a tremendous background and significant experience to their new roles.”
Cox was previously the Community Resource Liaison at Methodist Village, providing specialized
training for caregivers and raising awareness of long-term care needs across a seven-county area. She serves on the board for the Senior Care Alliance, the Alzheimer’s Association, and was a former board member for Arkansas Children’s Hospital. She also spent part of her career at the Arkansas Department of Human Services working with Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, Residential Care Facilities and community action groups, providing discharge planning and case management. She holds a BIS degree from John Brown University.
Smith most recently held the position of Advertising, Promotion and Membership Manager at Temple Live. Prior to that, she was Director of Special Events for the Fort Smith Regional Chamber of Commerce, including Liaison for their Healthcare Committee, and was the Sales Manager at Courtyard by Marriott. She has been a member of BBR (Business By Referral), a board member of the Young Actors Guild, a Fort Smith Public School mentor, and active volunteer at the
