FORT SMITH - Dr. Jerry Stewart, a longtime area physician who would later become CEO of Cooper Clinics has died at the age of 81. His passing was reported Wednesday by reporter Michael Tilley of Talk Business and Politics.
Stewart was a Benton native, who went on to graduate from Ouachita Baptist University and later UAMS. He served on a number of area boards and committees, including the Fort Smith School Board and as Chairman of the River Valley United Way.
Stewart served as CEO of Cooper Clinic from 1995 to 2005.
