If you own one of several brands of LG cellphones and you are starting to think no one likes you because your phones hasn’t been ringing this week, we have good news.

A recent automatic update to Google Drive, which comes pre-installed on all LG phones, apparently had a corrupted component that disables the ringtone and disrupts other aspects of your sound notifications.

An ATT representative at the Best Buy Mobile store in Central Mall today said that hundreds of people across thee country have reported that on incing calls to LG phones, especially the Phoenix 2, the corrupted file sends the caller directly to voicemail without ringing.

There are two options to fix the bad file. You can reformat your phone to the original factory settings or you can go in and manually disable Google Drive.

For 95% of the people out there, the best solution is to just disable the app. Google Drive is a file storage and synchronization service developed by Google and launched in April, 2012,

Google Drive allows users to store files in the cloud, synchronize files across devices, and share files. So unless you are running a small business from your phone, disabling the app is a far better option than reformatting the entire phone.

Google is trying to develop an update to undo the update they just did so people’s phones can ring again.
