UAFS women’s basketball coach Elena Lovato has announced the recent signing of NCAA Division I transfer Tae’Lour Richardson to an NCAA Division II letter-of-intent.
Richardson, a 6-foot forward from Nesbit, Miss., played the past two seasons at Eastern Kentucky.
“We are so excited about the addition of Tae’Lour to our program,” Lovato said. “Tae’Lour is a winner. She is a high character, blue collar player. She comes from an unbelievably supportive family.”
This past season, Richardson played in 19 games, including three starts. She averaged 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game and had five blocked shots, four assists and eight steals. As a freshman, Richardson played in 25 games, including seven starts. She averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game and had four blocked shots, six assists and four steals.
“She has a tremendous knack for rebounding the basketball. We are thrilled to add a transfer with her experience, motor and grit,” Lovato said. “Tae’Lour is a perfect fit.”
Richardson is a graduate of Horn Lake (Miss.) High School, where she led her team to back-to-back Class 6A State Championships. She averaged 12.9 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game and was named to the Mississippi Association of Coaches All-Star Game.
